What We Do
A short time ago, in a galaxy very, very near, Dana and Randy were chatting in their Plateau Mont Royal kitchen.
Dana: "Wouldn't it be fun to start a Rockabilly band?".
Randy: "Sure, but Rockabilly is all about cars and car culture and ... we don't drive. It wouldn't be authentic".
Dana: "Right, but we DO take the bus...".
And so began the journey of STM Getaway, the only band so dedicated to public transit that all our original songs are about Montréal bus routes.
From a lovestruck ride over the Mountain on the Number 11 to a dangerous game of Chicken played by two bus drivers racing in opposite directions on Parc avenue's Number 80 ...
From the ghost bus 324 that leapt off the Turcot interchange to the after-bar brawl on the 129...
And who can forget the band's eponymous tale of two bandits attempting to flee the scene of their robbery by bus...
This band has a story for every bus you've ever taken. Well, not yet, but we're getting there.
In the meantime, our shows are really fun.
